Terms of use and disclaimer
The basis on which Final Settlement is made available to you. Reviewed 2026-09-19.
Nothing here is legal advice, and using the site creates no lawyer-client relationship of any kind. What you get is general information about Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 plus arithmetic performed on numbers you typed in. The site has never seen your contract, your employer's records, your MOHRE file or whatever is actually in dispute — and in a real gratuity claim those are what determine the outcome. Treat the figure as something to check against, never as something to act on unaided.
Information against advice
The distinction is not a formality. Information is a description of what a statute says. Advice is a judgement about what that means for one person's circumstances, given by someone who has examined those circumstances and who carries professional responsibility for being wrong. This site does the first and is structurally incapable of the second.
Employment outcomes are decided by tribunals applying law to contested facts. Two people with identical service and identical wages can end up in different places because of how a contract was drafted, what was written down at the time, or how a resignation was handled. No calculator models that, and one that implied it could would be lying to you.
Employment this site does not cover
The calculations assume private-sector employment governed by the UAE federal labour law. They are wrong, sometimes very wrong, for:
- DIFC — its own employment law, and the DEWS savings scheme instead of an exit lump sum
- ADGM — a separate regulatory regime of its own
- Domestic workers — governed by their own legislation
- Federal and local government employment — different rules entirely
- Employers who have moved to the voluntary alternative savings scheme in place of the traditional gratuity
Establish which regime your contract sits under before you rely on any figure produced here.
How far we stand behind the content
Pages are checked against the legislation and each carries the date it was last reviewed, which is there so you can judge how stale it might be. That is a description of our process, not a guarantee of the result. No promise is made that the pages are error-free, nor that every amendment is reflected the day it happens; there will sometimes be a gap between a change in the law and a change on this site.
Where this site and the legislation disagree, the legislation is right and this site is wrong. If you spot such a case, tell us — it is the single most useful message we receive.
The site and everything on it are made available as they stand, with no warranty of any kind, whether stated or implied, and specifically none as to correctness, suitability for any purpose you have in mind, or freedom from interruption.
Liability
So far as the law allows, we accept no liability for loss of any kind arising from your use of this site or from reliance on what it produces. That includes a settlement you signed, a settlement you refused, a claim you brought, a claim you did not bring, and money you did not recover.
Nothing written here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, fraud included.
What you may do with it
Use the calculator as much as you like, for yourself or in the course of your work, including when helping someone else — on one condition, which is that you never present its output as advice we have given, because we have not given any. Quote a figure, cite a page, link to us: no permission needed and none required. What is not permitted is bulk-copying or scraping the written content for republication, or running the site's material as though it were a service you operate.
Links out
We link to legislation, ministries and other external resources for your convenience. We do not run those sites, cannot vouch for what appears on them, and are not answerable for their content.
Revisions to these terms
A revised version appears on this page carrying a new date. Carrying on using the site after that point is how you accept the revision; if you would rather not, the remedy is to stop using the site.
